Course programme:

Application of self-organizing structures in nano technology, opto-electronics and biotechnology.

- Self-organization of nanoparticles. Colloidal crystallization, artificial opal structures, energetics of CC. Invert opal structures.

- Molecular films, 2-dimensional self organization at liquid/air and liquid/liquid interfaces. Order and disorder in Langmuir-Blodgett films.

- Organized structures at solid/liqiud interfaces. Heterogeneous nucleation. Adsorption. Alternate polyelectrolyte layering.

-Bilayer structures: self organizing in biological systems.

- Investigation of self-assembled (self-organized) functional films.

-Elements of supramolecular chemistry. Role of the interaction-types in formation of hierarchical structures. Host-guest structures.
